I’m not sure if it’s just me- is anyone else loving this cooler August weather? No humidity, no frizzy hair and the subways aren’t that hot either. For this time of year this is unheard of and I’m loving it. It’s always nice to be able to wear cute Summer sweaters, pants, or even a leather jacket.
With that being said, I’ve been taking advantage of the cooler weather and wearing things I can’t typically wear in August. Today I’m showing off these amazing Lucy Paris pants + top and I wanted to share some simple tips on how to wear a wide leg pant.
First off, when trying to find the right top to wear with a wide leg pant, look for a top that is more fitted than loose fitting to show off your waistline. Most wide leg pants are generally high waisted which is good for accentuating the waistline so it’s good to wear a fitted top to help show that off. Wearing a loose fit top can make your outfit look sloppy and baggy all over. Since wide leg pants are loose fitting to begin with you need to even it out with a snug top, or a semi-loose topped tucked in.
Second, try to keep the pant to a solid color. Having a bold pattern can make you look larger than reality. I like to wear black, white or a neutral color, that way I can have the option to wear a vibrant top or keep it more on the elegant side by wearing solid colors.
Third, make sure to tailor your pants to just skim the ground. If you’re on the shorter side like myself, then this can do wonders by creating a much longer, leaner leg.
Lastly, go for a cropped wide leg pant, also referred to as a culotte pant for a chic night out paired with a nice heel. You can’t go wrong with a nice pair of wide leg cropped pants, a tucked in top, and good pair of stilettos. It’s chic and classic for any occasion.
Hopefully, some of these tips will help some of you step out of your comfort zone and try some new styles:) I’ve linked up these pants, bell sleeve sweater from Lucy Paris below and a few other similar options available.
