When I shared a quick story on Instagram saying “There is no better feeling than crawling into bed with freshly washed sheets” I didn’t anticipate so many questions about my bed but can completely relate. For years I Googled ‘best sheets’, ‘softest sheets’ and endless variations only to read a million different opinions when all I wanted was to crawl into a plush cloud of pillows and buttery soft sheets. One year I was staying at my girlfriend’s parent’s cottage Upstate and I walked into the room I was sleeping and looked at the bed and thought, wow, that looks comfy. Needless to say, I had the best two nights of sleep of my life. At the end of the weekend I found myself flipping up mattresses and stripping off sheets to find all of the tags and labels I could. During the car ride home I Googled all the labels and immediately ordered the entire list. Note that if you like a stiff, hard bed then my selection may not be for you.
Duvet – Linked Here
This Duvet was the game changer I needed in my life and on my bed. If you love the look of fluffy beds that seem as if they belong on display then this duvet has your name written all over it. It never flattens out, it’s feathery light and it keeps you beyond cozy. Yes, its on the pricier end, but when you think about the amount of hours you spend in your bed and how crucial a good nights sleep is, then it’s worth every penny in my opinion. When I was feeling all the duvet options at Bed Bath & Beyond it wasn’t even a question when comparing this one to the others on display.
Duvet Cover – Linked Here
Next up is the duvet cover. I knew the duvet cover was a belgian flax from Pottery Barn but I wasn’t sure with the endless options online. I decided to go into the store to see them in person and ended up being that lunatic rubbing my face on all the display beds to see which was the softest. As soon as I touched the Tencil sheets and duvet cover I knew that was exactly what I was looking for.
Sheets – Linked Here
Similar to the duvet cover, all I cared about was crawling into a buttery soft bed and these sheets are exactly that! They’re beyond soft yet extremely durable which is what I love about tencil.
Pillows – Linked Here
There isn’t much backstory other than the fact that David was complaining about not having the ‘right’ pillow so I took it upon myself to find the perfect one.
Mattress Cover – Linked Here
This mattress cover is for you if you like a soft bed. I know people who prefer to sleep on a very stiff bed which is the complete opposite for me. The softer the better in my opinion and after testing out multiple matters covers, this one had it all. You don’t want them to have too thick of a padding, just enough to cushion around your body while sleeping.
Bed Frame – Linked Here
Finding a bed frame with storage drawers was my number one priority. Any New Yorker knows that storage is hard to find in the city so anything for a little extra space was at the top of my list. Most of the storage beds I found didn’t allow you to customize the material until I found this one from Pottery Barn. It was a bit on the pricier end but you constantly hear about cheaper storage beds having issues with he drawers falling apart and this one had great reviews. So far I don’t have one complaint and we’ve had it for 2 + years.
Decretive pillows – Linked Here
When it comes to decorative pillows I have always found some of my favorites from Marshall’s and Target for affordable prices. When pillows aren’t being used regularly these ones hold up really well.
My advice for buying this things is to always wait for a sale or a coupon. I like to give myself credit for being extremely patient waiting for a sale to go on until I make a purchase. At some point, everything does! Feel free to DM me on Instagram if you have any good recommendations that are worth sharing:)
